Women are not the only ones who should look sexy on the beach. There are many rules when it comes to how a man should dress to the beach. No matter if you are ‘beaching’ at an exotic location or the regular water park down the street, here are some simple tips on what to wear to the beach:

Make Sure To Wear Relaxing Clothes

The beach is made for relaxing and should be a fun and calm experience. Your relax-mode should also show through your attire. Casual attire is a must when attending the beach. If you are not planning on hitting the water, wear men-shorts that fall right below the knee. Although jeans are considered casual wear, they are not as comfortable to wear when wet. Khaki shorts or shorts made of cotton is a good choice. If your body is not in the most ‘tip-top’ shape for the summer, tank tops are a good option because they are inexpensive.

If attending the beach in the hot summer months, avoid swim trunks or clothing that absorbs heat, such as black. If you are not comfortable going shirtless or wearing a tank top, try a simple white t shirt.

Don’t Forget Your Flip-Flops

Flip-flops serve multiple purposes, such as keeping the feet free from bacteria and burned from the heat of the rough and uneven sand. Some beaches also have parking lots which are made from asphalt. Asphalt can get really hot in the sun. If you are self conscious about your feet, there are other types of sandals that don’t reveal the feet too much. The key is to let the feet breath since beaches are so hot. In the end, you will fit in with the rest of the crowd and remain cool.

Things To Avoid

Since the beach is a very public place, it is important to avoid flashy attire and materialistic things such as expensive jewelry. There are many thieves and predators who lurk after ignorant beach-goers, waiting for them to take a splash in the ocean to steal their precious items. Also, speedos are a ‘no-no’ for men. Speedos are only socially accepted in professional swimming tournaments or in certain countries. Instead of an outdated and embarrassing speedo, try regular swim-trunks. Also, make sure to bring an extra change of clothing in case of an emergency or unexpected plans after visiting the beach.
